Microsoft and Yahoo finally get things done
Microsoft and Yahoo reach agreement that could affect as much at 30% of internet search.
The news that Microsoft had reached agreement with Yahoo seemed like a side issue to me, as a search marketing company, the larger picture was... what engine would provide the search? It is becoming clear that Microsoft's rebranded Bing search engine will fuel Yahoo's search algorithms.
If this is the case, I believe it is good news for organic search. Google has set the standards of search using a combination of on page and off page criteria to match search engine users request, Bing has followed suite. This means most sites that were attractive to Google's search results, may also find themselves on a Yahoo and Bing SERP as well.
The race could get interesting...
